About Me

My name is May Reyes. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.  I  received my Bachelor’s degree in social work from Utah Valley University and my Master’s degree also in social work from the University of Utah.  I grew up in Denmark but have spent most of my life in the United States. I was a foster parent for six years and fostered many children. In 2014 I was awarded Foster Mother of the Year by the City of Provo. I also adopted one of the children I fostered.  I am passionate about working with trauma and helping children and adults heal from their past, giving them back their joy in life. I am non-judgmental and connect easily with my clients.  I have received trauma-specific training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) as well as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).  I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I am trained in Parent Child Interactive Therapy (PCIT). When working with children I often use Sand-tray Therapy, Play Therapy, and Theraplay.  I am the mother of 7 awesome kids and love to spend time with my family, beating my husband in games, getting in over my head with DIY projects around the house, gardening, cooking, and playing with my dogs. I also love to travel especially back home to see my parents and siblings.
